Paul was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1954. After completing his high school at a private school, he attended the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa’s premier school, where he qualified with an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a law major. He then went on to obtain his Bachelor of Laws degree, graduating in 1978. During the period of his law studies and for one year after graduation, he was apprenticed to the prestigious law firm of Fluxman, Rabinowitz, and Partners, where he acquired a thorough and generalized overview of legal practice. He was admitted as an attorney to practice law in South Africa in 1979 and was admitted to practice as a Notary Public in 1980 after extensive study and examination. Paul then went on to open his own law practice, which he did in partnership with attorney Roy Stoler, a now senior and respected attorney in Johannesburg, South Africa. From 1986 until 1993, Paul practiced for his own account as a general practitioner, concentrating in family law, commercial law, real estate and international practice. This included areas of immigration law, counseling to many South Africans who were seeking to immigrate to such countries as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. This area of practice gave Paul his impetus to specialize in Immigration law, which he did on coming to the United States in 1994.
Paul expanded his academic list of achievements by studying and qualifying as a real estate conveyancer in 1990. Paul further undertook a study for a Higher Diploma in Company Law at the University of Witwatersrand for one and a half years in 1998. He did further studies in Criminology and Psychology at the University of South Africa (UNISA).
In 1994, Paul and his family immigrated to Boston, United States. Paul returned to full-time study, graduating with a Doctorate in Law from Suffolk University, Boston, Massachusetts. He was thereafter admitted to practice law in the state of Massachusetts. Paul has practiced since 1995 as a specialist in Immigration Law. Paul’s law practice is conveniently located on Newton Corner, off Exit 17 from the Mass Turnpike, where he practices independently for his own account, but in association with five other attorneys. Paul is the only immigration lawyer in the group but has the ability to call on the expertise of other attorneys in the group, who practice in such areas as corporate law, commercial law, litigation, family law including divorce, and real estate.
Aside from Paul’s strong academic background, Paul prides himself on his unique international background. Having experienced immigration first hand, he shares an empathy with his clients, who quickly recognize that he has more than the average to offer. Treating clients with dignity and displaying integrity are important criteria in easing the difficult burden associated with immigration.
